Hollywood Heritage and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association Present: A Centennial Tribute to Ernie Kovacs
On Wednesday, December 11, 2019 at 7:30PM, Hollywood Heritage Museum and The Hollywood Foreign Press Association will be present a Centennial Tribute to beloved comedian Ernie Kovacs.
The event will include screenings of Kovacs iconic television work, a Q&A with the audience and will feature a conversation with Edie Adams son, Kovacs Estate Caretaker Joshua Mills and Hollywood Heritage board member, Stan Taffel.
This is the final Ernie Kovacs event in honor of his Centennial. This year has seen a revival of both interest in and releases of rare and archival material from the archive of Ernie Kovacs. This includes a recently released The Ernie Kovacs Centennial Edition, 9-DVD box set of Kovacs best known television work from Shout! Factory, the reissue of the long out-of-Print record, The Ernie Kovacs Album Centennial Edition from Omnivore Recordings and the discovery of more than 120 hours of audio from Kovacs television and radio career, previously thought lost.
"Having the final centennial event of Ernie Kovacs personal and professional life at the Hollywood Heritage Museum is a perfect way to end an incredible year of celebrating Televisions Original Genius", said Joshua Mills of the Ernie Kovacs Estate & Ediad Productions. "Kovacs spent the last years of his life as a citizen of his adopted hometown of Los Angeles and to have the museum whose roots are in both the preservation and protection of Hollywood is about as perfect a venue as I could imagine".
We will also be having our famous $1 raffle featuring a host of items specially curated for the evening. In addition, food will be available for sale on the front deck before the show, so come hungry! See you at The Barn!
