Rose Levine is a household name on Fire Island in all communities as well as in the cabaret world in New York City. She has been performing for many years and has a loyal following who enjoy her songs, interpretations and fabulous costumes. Through the years Rose has appeared in many book shows as well as one-woman shows at various venues from Miami to Provincetown. She has performed at Pangea for the last four years and looks forward to entertaining and pleasing everyone once again.
Rose, Bob Levine is has appeared in more shows than any other performer in the Grove and the Pines since 1955 and to quote her, I'm the longest running act in town. In the Grove she has appeared in many book shows such as: Once Upon A Mattress, The Women, 70 Girls 70, Dames at Sea, A Broad At Home, Red Hot and Rose, Double Time, Triple Time, Doing Time with Rose Levine, Who Killed Rose Levine, Gal Joey and has also appeared in many reviews in the Grove.
In the Pines she began with Rose in the Pines in 1981 and has done: Pines Needles, Red Hot and Rose, Double Time, Triple Time, Doing Time with Rose Levine, Roses Turn, Anything Rose, Let Me Sing and I'm Happy, I Feel A Song Comin On, Putting it Together, And The World Goes Round, Guys and Dolls and La Cage aux Folles. Rose counts many firsts in her life in Cherry Grove including being the first Grove star to host a Doctor's Benefit in 1971, Rose Levine-A Special Entertainment. She and John Whyte were the first in the Pines to do benefits for God's Love We Deliver and GMHC beginning in 1985.
Rose recently performed in an all-star cast in a Jerry Herman tribute in New York City along with other Broadway performers, which was presented by the Ziegfeld Society.
Rose has also been pleasing audiences for the last four years at Pangea in New York City.
"Rose Levine a consummate artist. She has a great affinity for the music and lyrics of Jerry Herman." Leonard Feigenblatt, Outer Critics Circle
"Rose Levine is no ordinary drag queen, her transformation is delicate and she concentrates on her art. I did not know how stunning the transformation was until I saw it myself." Shoshanna McCollum, Fire Island News
"We have traditions, legends, celebrations and surprises but rarely do all of those things come together so beautifully in one evening unless you see a show starring Rose Levine." Gil Neary, The Review
