The 16th Annual Cape Cod Christmas Cavalcade to Benefit the Homeless
The Christmas Cavalcade for the Homeless has been a tradition for 16 years, raising nearly $10,000 on an annual basis to support Housing Assistance Corporation, a nonprofit that provides a range of programs for low- and middle-income households in our region. Their services include operating four family homeless shelters, homeless outreach to individuals living in the streets and woods of Cape Cod, homeless prevention, housing development, managing nearly 1,200 Section 8 vouchers in the region, and connecting individuals and families to the programs they need to stabilize their housing.
The one-of-a-kind concert gives some of the Bay States best musicians a chance to get together and do seasonal songs that either aren't in their repertoire at all or only appear for a few weeks annually. They are hosted by Cape Cod icon Chandler Travis.
They're real community bashes, family affairs where it's not unusual to see performers playing with their kids, as Steve Shook did with his daughter Liz when she was growing up, and as Sarah Swain will once again this year with her daughters Lucy and Jesse (whose Cavalcade careers started a couple of years ago, at the ripe old ages of 4 and 5.) At the other end of the age spectrum for a few years was Rock King, who was 86 last time we looked, all mixed in with some heavy duty pros like Livingston Taylor and Patty Larkin.

We will have a box at the Cavalcade door where people will be able to donate winter hats, gloves & mittens to Housing Assistance Corporation. Please consider bringing any extras that you might have around the house and no longer need to help the homeless make it through the winter season.
We will be selling raffle tickets. We have donations from several Cape Cod businesses, and will hold several raffles over the course of the evening. If you bring a little extra cash, you might go home a winner (we think you'll feel like a winner just giving money to benefit the homeless, too ... it's really all winning all night, isn't it?)
All proceeds go to the The Housing Assistance Corporation of Cape Cod
