These vintage tales are brought to life for the 21st Century in an LA area landmark, Forest Lawn Glendales Hall of Crucifixion-Resurrection, a building constructed in 1951 for the express purpose of displaying the largest painting on the West Coast! measuring 195 ft by 45 ft. NIGHT OF NOIR is a rare opportunity to experience this building at night. The evening is free, but you must register for a ticket.
While LA was being immortalized in harsh blacks and whites 70 years ago, crime comics were the dominant genre. Like noir movies, comics were filled with sordid tales of love gone wrong, hearts broken and unhappily ever afters. These arent heart-warming tales these are the bloody comic book crime stories that were burned in the 40s and banned in the 50s for being too hard-boiled, too violent and too much!
Plus, we have recently been given permission to premier a comic story by legendary 1950s comic book publisher EC for this show! They were the gold standard of comics in the Golden Age. Dont miss it!
