Backyard Compost and Vermicompost Workshop - Saturday Dec 7th 2019 - Watsonville
Its time to compost! Are you not sure what to do with your kitchen, garden and yard scraps? Would you like natural, homemade compost for your lawns and gardens in the spring? Then expand your recycling efforts to include kitchen scraps and yard debris by signing up for the Backyard Composting and Vermicomposting workshop taught by UC Master Gardener Bridget Matz.
Learn how to turn your yard waste and food scraps into a valuable resource for your garden. The class will employ a combination of hands-on, lecture and other participatory activities in order to learn the two primary methods of home compostingvermicomposting and backyard compostingas well as harvesting and using your resulting compost. The hands on portion of the class will be focused on vermiculture. The fee for this class is $5.
Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete class registration. A portion of the class will be held outside, please dress appropriately, for sun or fog. Layers, hat and sunscreen are advised.
