The Wheatland Chorale: WINTER (Lancaster)
In Winter, the Wheatland Chorale joins forces with composer/pianist Ola Gjeilo to present a program of sacred and secular music around the theme of winter and the image of the rose for Mary, the mother of the baby Jesus. The first half of the concert features Renaissance madrigals and exciting and beautiful contemporary works by Bob Chilcott, Michael John Trotta, Daniel Elder and Philip Stopford. The second half of the concert is devoted to the music of Ola Gjeilo, featuring accompanied and unaccompanied choral works and solo piano pieces with Mr. Gjeilo at the piano. This is a rare opportunity in central PA to hear and see Ola Gjeilo live in concert with the shimmering sound of the Wheatland Chorale!
