Organic Parks Workshop with Chip Osborne
What: The City of East Grand Rapids is transitioning two parks to organic and we want to show how they will do it! Natural lawn care expert Chip Osborne of Osborne Organics will provide a three hour crash course covering organic park management. We will cover the importance of soil biology, cultural practices and other natural lawn care concepts.
Who should attend: Managers of turf and other lands including those of park and school districts, municipalities, policymakers, non-profits and corporate campuses.
Cost: $10 registration fee so the non-profit Midwest Grows Green can provide refreshments and continue to assist communities with organic park and natural lawn care implementation.
More questions: Contact Ryan Anderson at randerson@ipminstitute.org or 773-878-8245
Thanks to: Stonyfield Organic Yogurt for supporting organic park implementation by the City of East Grand Rapids and funding for Chip Osborne's visit.
This is a MGG Lawn & Land Forum event. The MGG Lawn & Land Forum is a collaboration between MGG and the Illinois Sports Turf Managers Association and supported by the North Central IPM Center to document, summarize and improve the state of Integrated Pest Management and Natural Lawn Care policies and practices locally, regionally and nationally. All summaries, findings and resources developed from this forum will remain free and open source to turf managers, policymakers and individuals interested in applying IPM policies and programs to their work.
