Beginner Bee Class
Always wanted to keep honeybees and not sure if you are ready to commit? Planning to keep honeybees in your future? Purchasing your first bees this year? Had bees in the past and need some help with the basics?
This class is for you!
We offer 3 classes through WASBA, our state beekeeping association. This March we will be offering the Beginner Beekeeping course and hope to provide the freshly re-written Apprentice & Journeyman courses, for experienced beekeepers, later in the year.
The Beginner Beekeeping course is great for those who are thinking about getting started in keeping honey bees as a hobby, providing information to help you decide if beekeeping is something that you want to do as well as providing basic information on how to maintain a colony successfully in the first year.
Just like any other animal, bees require some level of management and understanding of basic care and husbandry in order to be successful and keep them happy and healthy - taking a class is a great way to make sure your bees (and you) start on the right foot.
Cost : $75 for non-members // $55 for members Time: March 21st & 28th; 8:00am-3:00pm both days, both days are required (45 minute lunch break each day) Location: VIRTUAL Registration & questions: email president@nwdba.org
The course fee also covers one-year membership to WASBA (state association), NWDBA (our club), course materials, and the Beginner Beekeeper certification - which is required to take more advanced classes.
