Antonio Vivaldi's "Gloria" plus Contemporary selections "Benedicte" & "Wit Wonders"
This winter the Chorale's program performs Antonio Vivaldi's Gloria, which has become a staple of the choral repertoire after being revived by Alfredo Casella during "Vivaldi Week" in Siena in 1939.
Also, we are performing "Benedicite" by Richmond native Zachary Wadsworth and "Wit Wonders" by Benjamin Broening, who is on the faculty at the University of Richmond. These choral works will be accompanied by a Vivaldi concerto for oboe and trumpet and J.S. Bach's organ transcription of a Vivaldi concerto in D-minor.
Ryan Tibbetts will conduct the singers and orchestra, and nationally-renowned organist Daniel Stipe will accompany and perform.
Please plan to attend and enjoy the classical as well as the contemporary with your entire family!
