Pa Dutch Pocket Workshop
Colonial women carried valuables in pockets which tied around their waists under their petticoats. Victorian women continued wearing them to safeguard valuables while traveling. This workshop examines 18th and 19th century pockets with emphasis on characteristics found in those of south eastern PA. Choosing from a selection of pre-cut fabrics, students will hand piece their pocket front and construct a full-sized pocket. Show above is one of several pocket shapes and piecing ideas available.
Class fee includes pre-cut fabrics for front; lining & backing fabrics; tape; thread;
