Slipping - A play by Daniel Talbott
3231 Creatives is excited to announce its upcoming productions of two excellently-written modern plays, focusing on what it's like to be a teen in today's world, directed by Scott B. Randall.
In the play "Slipping" by Daniel Talbott, we follow Eli, a gay teen who is dealing with depression, self-imposed isolation, an abusive ex-boyfriend, and the recent suicide of his father. Eli and his mother decide to relocate to Iowa from San Francisco, in hopes of getting a clean start, but Eli's troubles follow them.
This play features an extremely talented cast who tackle the extremely complex and mature material with pathos and grace. Please be advised that this play includes several scenes of male nudity, plus extremely adult language and mature subject matter. Not recommended for young children. This play stars Kyle James Traver, Eric Bayne, Courtney Rose Calkins, and Michael Young.
Slipping will be performed as part of the evening of modern theater, along with "Ride" by Eric Lane. These two plays open on Thursday, August 22 and run for two weekends. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, with shows of "Ride" at 7pm, and "Slipping" at 9pm. Tickets are $15 per person for one show, or $25 for both. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the 3231 Creatives shop at 3231 Broadway Ave in Everett.
