Ride - A play by Eric Lane
3231 Creatives is excited to announce its upcoming productions of two excellently-written modern plays, focusing on what it's like to be a teen in today's world, directed by Scott B. Randall.
"Ride" by Eric Lane follows the impromptu adventure of three teen girls, as they take off on a cross-country road trip. Molly is a high school senior who seems to come from a privileged family, and is the envy of her quieter co-worker, Carrie. But, Molly's world has just been turned upside-down, prompting her journey to shed some light on a family secret. Carrie decides to go with her, bringing her 11 year-old sister along.
This is an excellent coming-of-age drama that explores the transition between being a child to becoming an adult. The three characters are forced to make their own decisions and deal with the consequences. This play deals with some very mature subject matter and features strong, adult language. It stars Emily Fogarty, Samantha Lee, and Marina Pierce.
There will be two plays opening on Thursday, August 22 as an evening of modern theater. They will both run for two weekends. Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights, with shows of "Ride" at 7pm, and "Slipping" at 9pm. Tickets are $15 per person for one show, or $25 for both. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the 3231 Creatives shop at 3231 Broadway Ave in Everett.
