Join Jennifer Royer, Landis Valley Museum curator, as we visit three unique potteries that utilize traditional methods to create modern day Pennsylvania German redware pottery. Since 1976, Ned Foltz has created pottery at his historic schoolhouse studio. Bob Hughes (River Rat Pottery) working out of the Conestoga Area Historical Society, has been making traditional redware pottery since 1991. Robesonia Pottery was established in 2011 by Breininger Pottery employees that were taught by Lester Breininger for over 30 years. Each pottery makes traditionally accurate work, which is truly of their own hands. Schedule: 9am - board the bus and leave Landis Valley 9:30am - arrive at Conestoga Area Historical Society to meet with Bob Hughes and tour the site 11:45am - arrive at Foltz Pottery to meet with Ned Foltz in his studio, followed by lunch on site 2:20pm - arrive at Robesonia Studio 4:30pm - approximate arrival to Landis Valley
