Producer/ Host:
Ty Fance - an author of his book of autobiographical short stories Off My Head and Over the Fence and a producer of the story telling show - Off My Head a lasting storytelling experience. Originally from Houston, Texas, Ty performs his stories throughout Southern California and enjoys a good hot peppermint tea. Ty's stories feature his journey into and through fatherhood; reflections of marriage; and his colorful childhood -rediscovered.
FEATURED STORYTELLERS:
Cara Lopez Lee is the author of They Only Eat Their Husbands, a memoir of her bad romances in Alaska and her solo trek around the world. Her stories have appeared in such publications as The Los Angeles Times, Manifest-Station, and 50-Word Stories. She performs in many L.A. storytelling shows and is a winner of The Moth StorySlam. Cara did not actually eat her husband, however she wont reveal the secret ingredient in her pies.
Rich Tackenberg - has won multiple Moth StorySLAM competitions in NY in LA, and performs at Indie shows all over Los Angeles. He was voted most off-the-cuff storyteller by no one.
Roy Cruz is a performer, visual artist and storyteller. He created the show Streep Tease: Meryl Streep Monologues by an All-Male Cast which played for three years in Los Angeles then traveled to New York, San Francisco and most recently had a Manchester production in the UK. His essay How Faye Dunaway Saved the Christmas Pageant, was featured in Salon.com and another essay Janeane Garofalos Greasy Hair was part of an anthology of essays, Out on the Edge: Americas Rebel Comics, published in 2008. When he is not telling a story, he continues making abstract art, act and makes a succulent Caesar Salad Dressing.
Pam Noles - former police reporter and features columnist for the Los Angeles Times and Vibe Magazine, who currently works as a stage manager and costume designer. Her long--form story show ! Death 40-Feet Tall ! debuted at the first Hollywood Fringe Festival. She often performs on storytelling stages including BUSted, Sunday Night Sex Talks, Rant n Rave and the Turbine Arts Collective.
Ashton Cynthia Clarke - Originally from New York City, Ashton works as an executive search consultant or" headhunter" in her other life. When an old friend asked "what do you do with the rest of the body?" Ashton took that as a sign to begin something new. She was introduced to storytelling just last year at The Otter Story Hour and appeared on their stage for the first time back in July. Ashton creates videos that combine art, techno music and her readings of scripture. Look for her on YouTube or Soundcloud at Ashton Cynthia Clarke.
John Gonzales - born in Los Angeles and raised all over Southern California. Johns passion for storytelling has been realized across many artistic pursuits and media. In addition to live storytelling performance, he is an award-winning filmmaker, music producer, and published writer and poet.
