Waveform Magazine DIY Soldering Workshop: Gateway Oscilloscope
In this workshop we will make Waveform issue #2's DIY "Gateway Oscilloscope" project where we take an inexpensive and readily available oscilloscope and convert it to be used in a Eurorack system.
First, we will finish assembly of the oscilloscope [the surface mount components [SMDs] come already soldered by the manufacturer], by installing through hole resistors, diodes, electrolytic capacitors, and other components. We will measure the values of each resistor with a multi-meter to ensure proper installation. Once the oscilloscope is built and tested, we will assemble the Waveform designed circuit board which will convert the +12V supplied by Eurorack power into the +5V that the oscilloscope requires and runs on, and solder that into place, wiring it up to the oscilloscope.
Eventually we will put everything together, and mount it on the black matte/copper "Gateway Oscilloscope" PCB faceplate. You will leave the workshop with a functioning Waveform "Gateway Oscilloscope" for your setup!
Seats will be limited, so be sure to get your tickets before it's full up!
