TOMMASO CAPPELLATO
Italian hybrid drummer, producer, DJ and composer Tommaso Cappellato is a musical maverick running the gamut from freeform techno to hiphop production and jazz improvisation. Mentored by jazz visionaries, Tommasos seemingly unorthodox breadth of style and vision gives us a truly unique new school artist.

From building his jazz chops as a resident drummer in NYC, to hip hop excursions alongside Brooklyn MC's and acclaimed jazz players; traveling to Senegal to meld with local world music masters, to leading his own award winning spiritual jazz project Astral Travels; collaborating with experimental electronic, jazz and beats artists Mark de Clive-Lowe, Rabih Beaini, DJ Khalab (Tinashe the Wordsmith, Shabaka Hutchings, On the Corner), Nicola Conte and visionary Egyptian producer Maurice Louca to now presenting his latest solo artist project BUTTERFLYING + the soon to be released BONUS TRACKS (10.15) on Mother Tongue, Tommaso is the modern renaissance man, bringing together his lifetime of artistic exploration and exposure to create his own concept of a jazzinformed experimental electronic soundscape.

BROWN CALCULUS
Brown Calculus explores the soundscapes of the post-soul movement. Keyboardist and beat maker, Brown Calvin, and singer/songwriter, Vaughn Kimmons, are Geminis, illuminating the sacredness of Black music, seeking to bring about community on Earth and beyond. They reveal the connection between complicated time signatures and Black divinity, with a cosmic sound that remains grounded. Sharing the same body in their past lives, they perform with melanated synergy.
