Author & Hiker Jeff Ryan - Hermit: The Mysterious Life of Jim Whyte, a Benefit for Teens to Trails
Thurs Dec 5 | 7-8:30pm Advance | $10 Day Of Show | $15
When Jim Whyte settled outside the slate mining town of Monson, Maine in 1895, people hardly knew what to make of him. And almost 130 years later, we still dont. A world traveler that spoke six languages fluently, Whyte came to town with sacks full of money and a fierce desire to keep to himself. It was clear that Whyte was hiding from somethingenough to make the FBI come looking. But even the Feds couldnt imagine how Whyte, who lost every penny he had when WWI broke out, amassed another fortune before he died. Based on the true story, Hermit: The Mysterious Life of Jim Whyte follows one mans quest to discover the secrets of Whytes life. Ticket sales for this event benefit Teens to Trails, a non profit that connects high-school students with life-changing outdoor experiences.
