John Craigie - Album Release (Moscow)
John Craigie, the itinerant singer-songwriter who has spent most of the decade continuously touring across the U.S., has announced the release of his newest album "The Apocalypse is Over." Craigie will have his Moscow release show Thursday, September 12 at The Kenworthy Performing Arts Centre.
Marshall McLean and Bart Budwig will also be performing.
"The Apocalypse is Over," Craigie's eighth studio album, was inspired by his regular trips to New Orleans, Louisiana, where he was captivated by the music and spirit he found there. Blending jazz, folks, blues and country, Craigie's stories transport you from life in the French Quarter ("Preservation Hall") to Van Gogh's descent into madness in the south of France ("Rachel") to the lonely life of a musician on the road ("We Ain't Leavin' this Bar Patrick (Till We Find You Some Love).
John's collaborators on "The Apocalypse is Over" include Steve Adams (bassist), co-founder of Animal Liberation Orchestra (ALO) and currently working with Nicki Bluhm; Randy Schwartz (drummer), former drummer for Brett Dennen; and Clinton Curtis (pianist), a New Yorker with the soul of a New Orleans musician. Sean Hayes adds vocals to the opening track, "Innocent in My Arms." The album was engineered, mixed and mastered by Cian Riordan.
