THE BIGGEST LITTLE THEATRE & NEW WORKS FESTIVAL A Week of Locally Sourced New Theatricals and Writings for the Stage

The eighth annual BIGGEST little Theatre New Works Festival at Brüka Theatre is a showcase for original theatre pieces featuring traditional and nontraditional performances and stage readings created by local and regional performing artists. Some of these pieces have gone on to perform in National Fringe Festivals. This small festival features nine staged readings and two performances over five days in our downtown Sub-Brüka space. Readings range from monologues to full-length productions. Groups receive a portion of the ticket sales.

SYNOPSIS: Our first ever Poet in Residence, Jesse, will explore aspects of poetry which have given him 'Faith In a Variety of Experience'. During his first five years as a Reno/Sparks resident he has been a showcase performer, a Slam Poetry contestant, judge, scorekeeper, board member, a special event host, and principal photographer for The Spoken Views Collective. He has also been a community activist, a two time judge for the national competition 'Poetry Out Loud', a two time photographer for the Nevada Humanities Literary Crawl, and a two time Forte Award Winner. This will be the fifth poetry show Jesse has hosted at Brüka Theatre and the release of his first chapbook, 'FIVE', is set to coincide with Brüka's New Works Festival.
