Jim Page and Bill Davie
Jim Page was named by Seattle Metropolitan Magazine as One Of The 50 Most Influential Musicians In Seattle History. He has recorded 24 albums over the course of a 50-plus year career and written a mountain of songs. He has toured in 13 countries including the US, Canada, Ireland, the UK, and Taiwan. Lyricist Robert Hunter said, If Jim Page aint the bastard son of Woody Guthrie Im T-Bone Walker. Bonnie Raitt says, I'm a longtime admirer. The late Utah Phillips said it best: If youre ever going to get the message, this is the messenger to get it from.
To date. Jim's songs have been covered by The Doobie Brothers, Christy Moore, The Moving Hearts, Dick Gaughan, Roy Bailey, David Soul, Leftover Salmon, and Michael Hedges. He has received awards from Artist Trust and Jack Straw Productions. His music has been included on many compilations, including the Grammy Nominated Best Of Broadside. As of this writing Jim continues to write and to perform and to experiment with form and ensemble, and his songs continue to be pertinent and expressive of our times.
"Jim's been writing great topical songs for as long as I can remember, bringing his acute wit and wry humor to a host of subjects that can really use both. In the tradition of Woody and Dylan, he cuts right to the heart with music you actually enjoy listening to. I'm a longtime admirer." - BONNIE RAITT
Bill Davie has been writing songs for fifty years. In October of this year, Bill released his seventh full length album, Night Sky. Chris Lunn, founder of Victory Music and Ancient Victorys called it, The best set of songs and execution that has come across my desk. Davie delivers his most articulate, focused, and comprehensive work yet.
In a world filled with look-a-like-sound-a-likes, Bill Davie is a welcome breath of fresh air - a genuine, one-of-a-kind Northwest original. Nobody delivers a song like Bill. His expressive vocal gymnastics and powerfully rhythmic guitar style are his alone. His wry, witty, tender and insightful songs speak for themselves. How truly fortunate are we for the special gift Bill Davie has chosen to share with all of us. Tim Noah
With his magical command of the acoustic guitar and a comforting voice that draws you to listen, Davie continues the grand tradition of American folk singers. He could easily take a seat at the table with greats like Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan and Pete Seeger, and John Denver too, as Davies ability to write catchy, memorable songs is matched only by his gifted singing of his often funny and always thoughtful lyrics.
