Nick Dumas, Chris Luquette, Andrew Knapp
Nick Dumas (of The Special Consensus), Chris Luquette (of Frank Sollivan & Dirty Kitchen), and Andrew Knapp (of The Warren G. Hardings) on stage for an evening of award-winning bluegrass.
In September, 2018, Special Consensus won IBMA's Instrumental Recorded Performance of the Year and Album of the Year, as well as a 2019 GRAMMY nomination for their newest record, "Rivers & Roads". In 2016 Dirty Kitchen received Instrumental Group of the Year" and also have received a GRAMMY nomination!
Nick Dumas - Nick grew up in Brier, Washington, and was introduced to bluegrass music at a very young age by his dobro-playing grandfather. He often listened to his grandfather's country gospel band rehearse and was so inspired by the fiddle player that he started learning to play the violin in his school orchestra class when he was 12 years old. Nick soon began taking private fiddle lessons and then joined the family band The Three Generations, formed by his grandfather, his mother and his aunt. After learning to play mandolin, guitar and banjo and to sing lead and harmony vocals, Nick became a co-founder of the popular Northwest-based bluegrass band Northern Departure. He soon became known as a highly respected mandolin player and singer in the region and co-founded another very popular bluegrass band called North Country Bluegrass, touring both regionally and nationally. In 2015, Nick was very pleased to relocate to Tennessee to become the new Special Consensus mandolin player. Since then they have traveled all over the US and the world, including Ireland, England, Scotland, and all over mainland Europe! Nick has made two great records with Special C and both records are award winning!
Chris Luquette - "Chris is one of the hardest working musicians from the Seattle music scene. You'd be hard pressed to find another 29-year-old seamlessly switching from International Music to Jazz and from Rock to Bluegrass so comfortably. He has even studied Brazilian Jazz with Seattle based Brazil music legend, Jovino Santos Neto. Chris' musicianship reflects the multitude of musical influences he turns to for inspiration. His acoustic guitar playing really stands out, but this virtuosic, multi-instrumentalist is equally at home playing mandolin, drums, bass, electric guitar, banjo, and Greek bouzouki! Chris is the full time guitar player for the fantastic Frank Solivan & Dirty Kitchen! They have seen the world in their travels as well! In addition, Chris was a founding member of Seattle-based, Northern Departure, and has found himself sitting in with Jerry Douglas, Emmylou Harris, Rob Ickes, The Steep Canyon Rangers, Kenny and Amanda Smith, The Boxcars, Yogi and The Yogini's and many others." - From dirtykitchenband.com
Andrew Knapp - Andrew is truly one of the best bass players you will find in the region and beyond! He is also a talented singer. He currently plays with the fantastic Seattle-based bluegrass band, The Warren G. Hardings! Andrew joined Nick and Chris last year and is a perfect fit to their trio! You will not be disappointed!
