Courses The 2008 edition features the classic Highlander distance of 26.3k metric marathon distance with several orienteering stages and a trail run. We also offer the Lowlander, a shorter version of 14k length, basically the first stages of the Highlander.
Highlander participants can decide to drop down to the Lowlander if they decide to do so during the race.Competitors will partake in the traditional Highlander hospitality. Staffed aid stations will dispense food and drink at transition points, and there will be plenty of food at the post-race buffet that is free to both Highlanders and Lowlanders.
And, as is tradition, a commemorative prize will be awarded to the official finishers completing the full Highlander course within the 8-hour time limit. The time limit on the Lowlander is 6 hours. Finishing the Lowlander doesnt count as a completed Highlander, no prize is awarded (unless the race director decides otherwise)
Finishers in all previous Hudson Highlanders will be guaranteed starting slots in this year's race if their entry is made through this site by midnight on October 1, 2008.
