A series of works that originated as chamber music are brought to a larger scale in SMCO's second orchestral performance of the season. In music that ranges from light, sparkling textures to deeply emotional personal statements, the program explores ways that composers honor their heritage, from Jessie Montgomery's virtuosic string quartet background to Mozart's love of Bach and Handel.
