Hiro'a: A Dancer's Journey to Self Identity
Ora Nui is excited to announce it's 6th summer student showcase "Hiro'a: A Dancer's Journey."
Stepping away from what they have done in the past, Ora Nui brings you something new for this year's student showcase. Follow the story of a dancer who journeys far from home. In this new land she is surrounded by people with no eyes, no ears, no mouths. They do not see her, hear her, or speak to her. She is lost. She loses her identity. Guided by her ancestors in a dream, our dancer finds her way back to herself, to her TRUTH (Hiro'a).
"We are strong in our identity because it was given to us by our tupuna, through their mana, and those that came before."
Join us Saturday, June 27, 2020 at Mountian View High School's auditorium. Doors open at 5pm, Show starts at 6pm. Come early to grab some ono eats from Grinds With Treyz, browse our vendors, and try your luck with the many raffles up for grabs.

Celebrate another season of learning with Ora Nui's dancers as they share their love of Ori Tahiti with family, friends, and the community. This event also allows Ora Nui the opportunity to promote diversity in the community, arts and education in our youth, healthier living through exercise, and spreading the Hawaiian idea of Aloha.
---
Ora Nui Tahitian Dance Troupe is Vancouver's only pupu ori (Tahitian dance group). It is Ora Nui's mission to share authentic Ori Tahiti (Tahitian dance), music, language, and culture with the pacific northwest. Since its opening in November of 2011 the school has grown leaps and bounds and now includes dance classes for girls ages 4 - adults, guys ages 6 - adults, and fireknife classes for ages 6 - adult.
Ora Nui makes it a point to spread the Hawaiian idea of Aloha with all they come into contact with. Respect, Integrity and ALOHA are values that founders Roxie, and Charlie learned from their family and values they integrate into their studio and students. It is because of these ingredients that Ora Nui has become a home away from home for many of the dancers; an island paradise in the middle of Vancouver.
Come on by and experience some of the magic of the South Pacific. First introductory class is FREE! Contact us for more information.
