Night Folk and Chasing Ebenezer
Tonights live music offering will contrast the old with the new -- a changing of the guard! Night Folk represents the veterans of the local folk scene followed by Chasing Ebenezer, the next generation. Both groups feature original music and well-crafted songs.
Night Folk rose from the embers and ashes of The Grodie Brothers, the northwests legendary John Prine cover band, back in 2010!
At our core are the songs of Rich Waggs Waggoner. Rich is passionate about songwriting and has been for decades. His songs have been described as Blue collar truthsA songwriter for the working class. His tunes cover the humorous as well as difficult human experiences, sometimes in the same song. Richs songs resonate with audiences of diverse backgrounds.
Doug Spud Henderson, the other original member, brings a passion for well-crafted songs, singing, and the connection that music brings to people. A self-proclaimed Prinehead, his enthusiasm while performing is infectious.
Piers Munro, our non-northwest native, originally from southern California, is a real pro as a performer/musician and a businessman in the music/sales industry. Piers musicianship and vocal skills add so much to the mix.
Collectively, Night Folk embraces its motto, The Music Is Magic! www.reverbnation.com/nightfolk
Chasing Ebenezer is a world folk-rock band based in Portland, Oregon. With influences from Celtic, African, and Middle Eastern music, their songs make it hard for audiences to sit still. Their tunes are alive with bohemian violin licks, world percussion, and an ever-increasing array of instruments. The band is fronted by husband and wife team Benjamin & Heidi Beth Sadler. www.chasingebenezer.com
