Ciaran McGhee and Brothers Bear-Scotland meets Appalachian Mountain Music
Cairan McGee
If you haven't seen him, he was born in Ayrshire, but now lives in Edinburgh. Ciaran describes himself as a Folk/acoustic/Singer-songwriter, with influences as broad and deep as The Corries, Planxty, The Dubliners, Christy Moore, Simon and Garfunkel, Jon Gomm, Alter Bridge, The Chieftains and The Fureys. He will be performing a selection of songs that covers 400 years of Scottish Folk Music.
Brothers Bear
This mult-instrumentalist quartet started in 2015 when local singers and guitarists James McCann and Joshua Brumley joined forces as a two-piece band. In late 2016, cellist Guillermo Quiros and upright bassist Nelson Williams hopped on board to complete the folk/bluegrass sound of Brothers Bear.
The band members compare their sound and tight harmonies to the Avett Brothers, the Lumineers and Gillian Welch. With their 2015 album Say and their newest just released this year, Walking Each Other Home, theyve already established themselves on the Baton Rouge scene.
