The Illinois Raptor Center's annual Owl Prowl will be on Friday, October 11, 2018, from 6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the IRC located at 5695 W. Hill Road in Decatur. The evening starts at the IRC education pavilion where the audience will meet several live Illinois owls. Then we will hike to the Sangamon River to call in the wild resident owls. The presentation concludes at the pavilion with a question and answer session.
Participants are asked to wear weather appropriate clothing - the event will only be canceled and rescheduled if the weather bureau issues a storm warning for that evening. And please remember to bring your flashlight!
Doors open at 5:45 PM. Cost is $10 for adults, $7 for students. Not recommended for children under the age of 6. Seating is limited!
The trail to the Sangamon is about 1/4 mile one way. The pavilion is handicapped accessible. The trail is not handicapped accessible but we do have 2 seats available in our Club Car for persons who are not able to hike. Reservations for those seats are first come first serve. PLEASE MAKE A NOTE ON YOUR RESERVATION TO RESERVE A SEAT ON THE CLUB CAR.
This is an awesome event! Fees from this event fund the IRC Wildlife Hospital and its wildlife patients.
Tickets: "Will-Call" means the IRC will receive your name on the list of paid attendees - physical ticket is not necessary. But if you prefer to print your ticket or send a copy to your smart phone you may do so.
