Wednesday in the Newsroom
A special Tuesdays in the Newsroom on Wednesday, Oct. 23
Presidential Campaign Coverage With Carolyn Ryan, Assistant Managing Editor, The New York Times
Carolyn Ryan, who ran The New York Times coverage of the 2016 presidential campaign, will join Tuesdays in the Newsroom this month to talk about her experience and what to look for as the 2020 campaign heats up. Before being named the Times senior editor for politics in 2015, Ryan served in various leadership roles at the newspaper, including Washington bureau chief and metro editor, overseeing the Pulitzer Prize-winning coverage of the fall of former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer. Carolyn began her career at the Patriot Ledger in Quincy, Mass., and served as deputy managing editor for local news at The Boston Globe before joining the Times. In 2017, she was promoted to assistant managing editor with a focus on recruitment.
Tuesdays in the Newsroom is a monthly discussion series produced by the Vineyard Gazette and held in the off-season for people who want more engagement with the news. Space is limited, so advance registration is required.
For this month only, Tuesdays in the Newsroom is being held on a Wednesday to accommodate the speaker's schedule. Please join us at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 23rd for a brief reception, followed by the program.
