WTS October Lunch Program - The City of Bellevue's Evolving Identity
Please join WTS for a presentation on the City of Bellevue's evolving identity as expressed through mobility and land use. Our speakers help guide change in the community through transportation, land use policy and project development review; Kevin McDonald is the City's Principal Transportation Planner; Emil King is the Assistant Director of Community Development; and Laurie Tyler serves as Development Services Senior Planner. City staff will share ongoing trends and upcoming initiatives, as well as insight into how the City is working to pro-actively and thoughtfully keep pace with the unprecedented rapid change it is experiencing. Those changes include new and improved mobility options, such as the much anticipated light rail transit service; an emerging connected bicycle system; and pedestrian facilities to help make walking the easiest way to get around in downtown. They also include the realization of the City's vision for Downtown and the Spring District, a potential new urban neighborhood in Wilburton, and the review of a flurry of new downtown projects to ensure consistency with policy and code to enhance character and sense of place.
Networking begins at 11:30 am, the program begins at noon and ends at 1:00 pm.
