T.K. Blue's November Showcase
join us on Friday, November 22, 2019 as we welcome to our stage upstairs for two shows T.K. Blue! T.K.Blue will perform in duo with pianist Sharp Radway in tribute to NEA Jazz Master Dr Randy Weston. T.K.Blue's latest CD release is a suite entitled "The Rhythms Continue" on JAJA Records and pianist Sharp Radway is one of four pianists featured on this recording. T.K.Blue will play alto and soprano saxophones, flute, and kalimba, in performing selections from his latest project.

 T.K. Blue has performed on over 80 recordings, his own releases and on recordings featuring acclaimed international jazz artists, including Don Cherry, Archie Shepp, Randy Weston, Dizzy Gillespie, Pharoah Sanders, Chico Hamilton, Bobby McFerrin, DeeDee Bridgewater, Jimmy Scott, Jayne Cortez, Sam Rivers, Benny Powell, and James Moody.
Doors for the first show open up at 6:oopm with the show beginning at 8:00pm and doors for the second show open up at 9:30pmM with the show beginning at 10:00pm.
A $15.00 food/beverage minimum is in place for all attendees to ensure we can continue to present entertainment we can truly take pride in.

T.K.s teachers include Billy Mitchell,
the legendary saxophonist with Count Basie and Dizzy
Gillespie, Jimmy Heath, Rashan Roland Kirk, Yusef
Lateef and Jimmy Owens. He played with Don Cherry at
the famous 5 Spot, and in the 1970s toured with
Abdullah Ibrahim. T.K. moved to Paris in 1981, where he
performed with the renowned pianist/composer Randy
Weston, eventually becoming his musical director. Their
collaboration led to countless tours, recordings,
concerts, radio and TV appearances. T.K. performed on
the soundtrack for a 2011 film, Queen City, starring
Vivica Fox.
T.K. has released 11 CDs beginning in 1986 with the release of Egyptian Oasis through his latest CD, Amour, released in 2017.

Ticket sales are nonrefundable unless outside circumstance requires closing of the venue.
