The Free Theatre presents "FAME - The Musical"
Our non-profit, tuition-free and student-led musical theater company is excited to be producing "Fame - The Musical" at the Silver Spring Black Box Theatre in Silver Spring, MD. This show is set in the old High School of Performing Arts Building on 46th Street East of Broadway, just off Times Square, during the years 1980-1984. It tells the story of the last group of students and teachers to inhabit this grant historic edifice, following them on a four-year journey from being admitted to the school through graduation. Because the action begins in 1980, the characters are aware their school has been the subject of a hit movie and TV series.

The Free Theatre was formed in June, 2018 by a group of dedicated high school seniors who had the desire and drive to create a non-profit 501(c)3, student-run, tuition-free company for students who are passionate about creating theater.
