Bellingham City Club Program August 28th
The Bellingham City Club's August 28th program will address the question asked by the program's title (perhaps just by saying, "They do, but increasingly the 'paper' isn't on paper") and will explore the dramatic changes the recent digital revolution has brought to journalism.
Our excellent panel of senior editors and publishers will discuss, among other topics: The impacts of digital media on political journalism Who or what will now be the watchdog and truth teller for the public especially on local and state issues? How do we know whom to trust in the din of information available in this new age of journalism? How do we make sure the public has access to digital media?
Joining us will be: Ryan Blethen, associate publisher and digital executive producer of The Seattle Times Thomas Brew, managing editor of BreakingNews.com, the NBC News international platform for currently unfolding events Tim Johnson, editor and publisher of Cascadia Weekly, which covers culture, politics and news from Skagit County to the Lower Mainland of British Columbia
