Salaam Syria! "Peace & Welcome"
On October 12, we will have an opportunity to meet the Almustafas, a Syrian family who fled their home in Northern Syria in 2015. With help from the Vashon Resettlement Committee, they have made great strides toward independence and stability. The highlight of our evening will be a Syrian meal prepared by the Almustafa family catering business. They will talk to us about Syrian culture, the trauma that has beset their country, and the hopes of the Syrian people.
Sponsored by the Immigrant Justice Action Team of University Congregational United Church of Christ, the program is suitable for adults and young adults. All are welcome!
