THAT'S SEXPLOITATION! Philly Premiere + LET ME DIE A WOMAN
Friday, September 13, 7:30 PM
@ PhilaMOCA, 531 N. 12th Street

Philly Premiere of Frank Henenlotter's (BASKET CASE, FRANKENHOOKER) new documentary on sexploitation cinema plus a bonus screening of Doris Wishman's 1978 classic LET ME DIE A WOMAN.

On Friday, September 13th at 7:30 PM, join Danger After Dark and the Philadelphia Mausoleum of Contemporary Art for an exhaustive (and exhausting!) tour through almost a half-century of softcore skin sinema with the Philadelphia premiere of THAT'S SEXPLOITATION!, an eye-popping new documentary from legendary director Frank Henenlotter (BASKET CASE, FRANKENHOOKER) and Something Weird Video. Beginning with the stag reels of the silent film era, and then continuing just until the introduction of hardcore in the early 1970s, Henenlotter uses hundreds (and we mean, *hundreds*) of film clips to guide the viewer through the entire history of sexploitation cinema in a consistently entertaining, often laugh-out-loud funny, rapid-fire look at the occasionally scintillating but often absurd business of selling sex on screen in puritanical mid-20th century America. Henenlotter is also joined by famous producer David Friedman, the now sadly departed Mighty Monarch of Exploitation Film, in this epic (136 minutes!) study of all of the key genres in this universe: sex hygiene and drug scare films, burlesque and striptease movies, nudist camp comedies, nudie cuties, exotic imports, roughies, psychedelic sexploitation of the drug era, and ultimately the more explicit films just prior to hardcore. Henenlotter's film covers them all, and will stand as the definitive documentary word on the subject for decades to come  and definitely the funniest. But wait, lucky ticketholders, that's not all! On the same exciting double bill:

We will follow up THAT'S SEXPLOITATION! with a rare screening of Doris Wishman's infamous 1978 sexploitation documentary LET ME DIE A WOMAN, an outrageous, unique look at transsexuals that must be seen to be (dis)believed. Don't miss it!

Danger After Dark/Artsploitation Films' Travis Crawford will be on hand for an introduction.

Doors at 7:00, Movie at 7:30, $10 admission.
