Baby Boomers look upon 1968 as the bellwether year of tragedy and triumph with the assassinations of Martin Luther King and Robert F. Kennedy, the orbiting of the moon, and protests around the country and the Mexico City Olympics.
Change came as the result of these events, but they seem small in comparison to the changes resulting from what happened 100 years ago in the year 1919.
Ed Cabrera will take us back in time to revisit that year, when women succeeded in gaining the vote and when the worlds nations came to Paris to try to put the world back together and begin the peace process after the devastation of WWI.
Ed will give us a closer look at the personalities, background and mechanics of these giant events of the 20th century. Finally, on the 100th anniversary of this pair of landmark achievements, the class of will examine the progress of these changes and the implications for our society.
