Passion, Joy and Beauty: Poulenc, Fauré and Britten
Join us this fall as Voci presents Voices in Peace XVII: Passion, Joy and Beauty, an ambitious program of exquisite twentieth century music for women's voices and organ, under the direction of Guest Conductor Robert Wells.
Voci will bring to life Benjamin Britten's inventive Missa Brevis in D, Francis Poulenc's stunning Litanies à la Vierge Noire, Gabriel Fauré's sublime Messe Basse, and other notable works by Maurice Duruflé and Emma Lou Diemer. All of these composers derived inspiration from medieval Gregorian chant, cleverly reworking these sacred plainchants into innovative and beautiful new works.
Voci will be joined by internationally acclaimed organist Jonathan Dimmock and the Piedmont East Bay Children's Concert Choir.
You won't want to miss this concert!
