Local Investment Clubs & Networks: Part 1 of 2
We'll start this month's conversation about local investment clubs with a lesson from the Business Alliance for Local Living Economies about how this model is being used to build community capital across the nation. Then engage in a lively discussion--whether you are a consumer, investor, entrepreneur, policy-maker, or academic, you will help craft the conversation as we explore how local investment clubs can build vibrant local economies.
One week later, on November 20th, we'll dive deeper into how cooperatives are working in our region with a happy hour panel discussion featuring local experts and case studies.
IMPORTANT!! Tickets to the November 20th panel discussion on local investment clubs include admission to this November 12th coffee session. If you'd like to attend both, buy your ticket here!
For the best value, buy a series pass to all Community Capital: Seattle events, which run through the end of April, 2014.
The series will also explore cooperatives; creative community loan models; crowdfunding, CSAs, and pre-sales; community banks, credit unions, and CDFIs; and Direct Public Stock Offerings as ways to move money into our local economy. More info available at www.seattlenetwork.org/commcap.
Many thanks to our series sponsors: Bainbridge Graduate Institute, BECU, and Central Co-op, plus a number of generous in-kind sponsors.
