A.R. Gurney's "Love Letters"
A.R. Gurney's "Love Letters" is the story of a 50-year correspondence between Melissa Gardner and her childhood-friend-turned-love-interest, Andrew Makepeace Ladd III. This Pulitzer Prize finalist is a two-person staged reading chronicling the evolution of a touching lifelong romance performed by actors reading letters back and forth to each other.
ABOUT THE DIRECTOR Islander Tres Cozine is an actor and musician who has appeared in film, print, and theatrical productions such as Shrek the Musical, Peter Pan, Vale, The Full Monty, Fox Fire, Cabaret,The Tempest, The Twelfth Knight, and BPA's Ten Minute Play festivals. Tres plays bass in The Haus Band and is honored to direct Love Letters at BIMA this Valentin'es Day.
ABOUT THE ACTORS Christine R Salo (Melissa Gardner) Christine has been involved in Puget Sound theatre and professional acting for many years now. Recent roles include the Wicked Witch in BPAs production of The Wizard of Oz and Mrs. Higgins in My Fair Lady at Seattle Musical Theatre. She was named West Sounds Best Actress in a Drama by the Kitsap Sun for her role as Martha in Whos Afraid of Virginia Woolf at BCT. Other credits include industrial and commercial TV ads, modeling. She debuted in her first short film in Spring of 2019 in H A L O as Helen.
Tell Schreiber (Andrew Makepiece Ladd III) Tell Schreiber moved to Bainbridge in 1997 and has enjoyed a long involvement with Island Theatre, including three years on the Board which he retired from in 2018. Directing credits include A.D.A.M., If The Shoe Pinches, The Easy Chair, Marjorie Prime, Skylight, Dead Certain, Dear Editor, Two Christmas Shows: In the Spirit and The Decembrists, Six Characters in Search of an Author, among others. Tell has enjoyed acting roles in Art, Snow Falling on Cedars, Rashomon (BPA) Copenhagen, Time Stands Still, Seasons Greetings, A Delicate Balance, The Price, Street Scene among many others with Island Theatre Earlier roles as MacBeth, Sgt. Musgrave, Nestor Le Frippe, Carnival of Thieves among many others. Woodworker, spalted bowl maker, film groupie (Philmen), Tell is father of three, step-father of two, and grandfather of ELEVEN.
