Afternoon @ the Barn - Letters From Hollywood
Our 2019-2020 season of special events will kick off with an Afternoon @ the Barn on Sunday, October 27th at 2:00PM. This unique program, "Letters From Hollywood", will showcase the exciting new book by the same name.
Authors Rocky Lang and Barbara Hall will take you "inside the private world of classic American movie-making" with their new book "Letters From Hollywood" which reproduces in full color scores of entertaining and insightful letters from some of the most notable and talented film industry names of all time, including Humphrey Bogart, Audrey Hepburn, Frank Sinatra, Cary Grant. Culled from libraries, archives and personal collections, the correspondence are organized chronologically and annotated by the authors to provide backstories and further context.
Following an in-depth Powerpoint presentation, special guests will be reading and commenting on letters provided by their family. Michael Berman, son of Pandro S. Berman and Gyl Roland, daughter of Gilbert Roland, Daniel Selznick, son of David O. Selznick and Paul Clemens, son of Eleanor Parker will all be in attendance! The authors will also be signing copies of their book. This is the gift book of the season for fans of classic Hollywood! See you at The Barn!
