Dia de los Muertos Celebration
It's a Dia de los Muertos/Day of the Dead celebration!
Mexican artist Gloria Arjona will take us on a journey through the origins and traditions of this Mexican holiday through storytelling, images, traditional clothing and live music.
Born in El Paso and raised in Mexico City, Dr. Arjona has a distinctive way of lecturing to draw attention to the rich cultures and traditions of Latin America, in particular Mexico and the US-Mexico border. She holds a Doctorate in Spanish and is an educator, accomplished musician and arts advocate, as well as a Spanish Lecturer at Caltech.
This is a family friendly event, appropriate for all ages, with activities for the kids including face-painting! Ofrenda tables will be on display.
Dr. Arjona's performance will be followed by a free screening of the animated movie, "Coco!"
Light refreshments and soft drinks are included and there will be a cash bar available.
