French Music: Sensitivity and Passion
Esteli Gomez, one of our favorite sopranos and Grammy award winner with her group "A Roomful of Teeth," returns for an evening of French music! In honor of Valentine's Day weekend, she will sing two works: the dramatic cantata about rejected romantic love by Montéclair's La Mort de Didon, and Mourets Andromeda and Perseus about love that leads to heroic deeds, both inspired by Greek mythology . Also on the program: Rameau's Fifth suite for harpsichord, violin and cello, Telemanns Paris quartet, and harpsichord pieces by Rameau. With Margaret Humphrey, violin, Anne Timberlake, recorder, Ken Kulosa, cello, Maryse Carlin, harpsichord.
