MICHAL VICTORIA
--------------------------------------
"Bardo"

Michal didn't really want to go to the hot springs, but a friend had gifted her. After decades fighting Chronic Lyme Disease and fallout from childhood abuse, she arrived at the most beautiful place she had ever been, weary and unsure if she wanted to keep living.
Then the ocean spoke to her.

MARIE O'DONNELL
--------------------------------------
"Hide The Booze, the Family's Comin' Over"

The din is getting louder as each person arrives, so Marie figures this is a good time to grab a cup of the good wine hidden in her room.  Mom likes that sweet headache wine, so Marie always keeps a bottle - or three - of the good stuff tucked away somewhere.  But she's gotta guzzle fast and get out before her sister, Yeller Brenda, bursts in and starts screaming bible quotes at her.  Will they be able to make it through the night without a catfight - or worse?

BARBARA BRADY
--------------------------------------
"Dating on the Road to Medicare"

I'm riding in a taxi chatting with the driver. Can it be he's chatting me up? It's so great to be talking to someone my own age. He's even kind of cute. It's a welcome reprieve from being the live-in caregiver to my 84-year-old dad, but it doesn't last long. Did I mention Dad's in the back seat? And he couldn't have picked a worse time for -- how shall I put this? -- a gastric emergency. I have to take care of it, but that doesn't make me unattractive, does it? I mean, if you're dating on the road to Medicare, there's a whole different set of criteria for your perfect love match.

LAURA JANE BAILEY
--------------------------------------
Qui Êtes Vous?

She came out of nowhere.  She just appeared.  One hand in her pants pocket, one hand holding a a pack of cigarettes and of course the requisite black beret.  The epiteme of cool to my young college girl self.
Who are you? she asked taking matches out of her pants pocket.  I couldnt take my eyes off her.  She locked her gaze on me.

Pardon me?

Who are you? she repeated as she lit her cigarette.

Oh, you speak English looking around just to make sure she was actually talking to me.

I speak whatever you need me to speak. Qui etes vous?
