Blood Rage
You can feel the crushing family burden when it comes to harried mother Louise Lasser; its great to see her become more undone as things progress. Likewise, Mark Soper gives us two very different psychos! -- Dread Central
BLOOD RAGE combines Thanksgiving, MARY HARTMAN, MARY HARTMAN star Louise Lasser, killer synths and some of the most gruesome SFX in all of slasherdom. You're welcome!
Twins Todd and Terry seem like sweet boys -- until one of them takes an axe to the face of a fellow drive-in patron. Todds blamed and institutionalized, whilst Terry goes free. Ten years later, as the family gathers for the holidaze, news comes that Todds escaped...but has the real killer been in their midst all along?! One things for sure: this Thanksgiving, there will be blood and rage.
"Probably my favorite "bad" 1980s slasher. The casualness and joy with which Mark Soper dispatches his victims is still fresh and hilarious to this day and Louise Lasser adds a real emotional punch to the whole thing. Solid gore and a classically synth-y score are icing on the cake but it's the head-scratcher of an ending that really keeps me going over the film again and again in my mind." - Rocco, Mubi
"Funny, brutal, and featuring an above-average amount of T&A, Blood Rage epitomizes the slasher films sense of transgression, both in terms of bodily awareness and genre play." - Slant
