What's in a Name: Jacob -- SCC with Kickapoo HS & Evangel Choral
Whats in a name? It is what turns heads. It can cause a quiver in your body, or a smile to curl onto your lips. A name can be tarnished or reborn. It can make you stand out from the crowd or join the masses. Join Springfield Chamber Chorus in our 11th Season as we celebrate the uniqueness in a name.
On Sunday, October 20th, the season opens with a concert dedicated to the name "Jacob". Jacob means "to follow at the heel", or "to supplant, circumvent, assail", and for 13 years starting in 1999, Jacob was the most popular boys name in the United States. Featured music will include works by Jacobus Gallus, Jacob Praetorius, Jacob Narverud, and others. Springfield Chamber Chorus will be joined by Kickapoo High School Concert Choir, and Evangel University Chorale.
