Jes Taber, owner of Eye of the Avocado, mentored in an all organic cafe under Marin Organics director turned chef Kate Baron.  While in San Francisco, she worked with Leif Henedal (who was a paladar chef last July) where his dream like food was unraveled before her eyes.  She also worked at such destination locations as Tartine Bakery, BiRite Market & Little Star Pizza. Currently she works for Wendy Van Wagner @ In The Kitchen on Zion Street, where she cooks up a menagerie of delicious hot savory foods for local cafes.

Since moving to Nevada County, Jes has continued to provide personal chef work under the name Eye of The Avocado. She cooks nourishing meals for families around Nevada County that highlight the local produce & pasture raised meats that we cultivate so well.  Like Hiro who dreams of sushi, Jes too dreams of the magic of food; generally just the feeling of community that only a table full of hungry diners can bring to fruition.  

Like Water for Chocolate will be a night full of incredibly sensual and mouth watering delicious authentic Mexican treats.  You will dine on wild caught ceviche, corn sopes w/ green mole chicken, carnitas & roasted vegetable tacos w/ hand made corn tortillas, roasted tomato & peach blackberry salsa & tamales that will melt your heart into liquid gold.
