Gypsy Soul will be making a rare appearance as a duo playing songs from their new album, "Wanderlust".
Jeff Golden will be reading passages from his new book, "Unafraid".
Jeff has spent the last 25 years in politics, broadcasting and editorial journalism. His political career includes service as a Jackson County (OR) Commissioner, Chief of Staff to the Oregon Senate President, and Environmental Policy aide to the City of Portland. During those years he wrote Forest Blood (Wellstone Books, 1998), the pre-eminent novel of the Northwest timber wars. With his new book, "Unafraid" Jeff asks, what if John F. Kennedy had survived his wounds in Dallas and gone on to serve two full terms in the White House? What if the aftermath astronomical public approval ratings, a presidential agenda that sails effortlessly through Congress, a parade of the worlds most beautiful women through the White House at his whim moved him to wonder Is this all there is? What if he decided to see if Americas walk could match its talk?
In the vein of Sarah McLachlan, Eva Cassidy and Fleetwood Mac, Gypsy Soul's music creates a genre-defying aural tapestry. The music is described as Acoustic Soul with English Blues and this highly accomplished pair is hailed as "one of the most brilliantly instrumented and vocally adept bands alive and kicking," by the OC WEEKLY. The ORANGE COUNTY REGISTER says their unique sound is "strikingly beautiful with the group's seamless blend of Folk, Jazz, Pop and World Music. Indie music darlings and professional touring musicians for over 15 years, Cilette and Roman have managed to sell over 100,000 of their independent CDs from their maverick-style touring and marketing of their group. Their music has been heard on numerous TV shows and movies over the past decade including: Quick Sand (Michael Cane); After Sex (Brooke Shields); and the hit TV shows Providence, Felicity and Roswell. http://www.gypsysoul.com and http://www.myspace.com/gypsysoulmusic
