William Goldman's fairy tale spoof comes to the silver screen as nothing less than one of the best fantasy films of the past 25 years. Convinced that her true love, the farmhand Westley, has died at sea at the hands of the Dread Pirate Roberts, the beautiful Buttercup allows herself to become betrothed to the sleazy Prince Humperdink. Unbeknownst to her, Humperdink plans to have her murdered in a bid to start a war with a neighboring country and arranges for her to be kidnapped. Fortunately, also unbeknownst to her, the kidnappers are being pursued by the one person who might be able to save her The Dread Pirate Roberts! A hilarious script, swashbuckling swordplay and "wuv twue wuv" make for a fabulous film for all ages!
