Rainier Arts Center presents Arts Gumbo 2019-SAMOA!
Talofa lava! (Greetings)! We invite you to celebrate Samoan culture through their traditional music & dance, delicious food, arts and children's crafts. A family-friendly festival showcasing an amazing Island culture!
Arts Gumbo event program: 5:30 pm - Doors Open 6:00 pm - Welcome to Arts Gumbo 2019 Master of Ceremonies Ben Leiataua Jr. Animated Short Films - Legends of Samoa The Turtle and The Shark animation by Ryan Woodard Sina and the Eel animation by Doveton Live. 6:15 pm - Samoan Music and Dance Lumana'i o le Pasefika (Future of the Pacific) Cultural Group 7:30 pm - Polynesian Crafts for Kids! Make your own kukui nut lei or bracelet Get a Samoan ie (Polynesian wrap)
7:30 pm - A taste of the Islands Island Breeze Catering Pineapple-BBQ Chicken, Oka (Poke), Sapasui (rice noodle with beef) and Panikeke (Deep-fried donut) and Poi Fai (Blended ripe banana and coconut smoothies).
