YOUR EXPERTISE IS NEED following a disaster. AIA San Diego and the California Office of Emergency Services, Cal OES, presents a unique opportunity to PREPARE NOW. (Earn 6.0 AIA / HSW CES LU's)
Background: The Safety Assessment Program (SAP) utilizes volunteers and mutual aid resources to provide professional engineers and architects, geologists, and certified building inspectors to assist local governments in safety evaluations of their built environment in the aftermath of a disaster. The SAP program is managed by Cal OES in cooperation with professional organizations. Cal OES issues registration ID cards to all SAP Evaluators that have successfully completed the program requirements.
Necessary Licenses: Currently, the licenses, registrations, and certificates listed below are necessary in order to be registered as a SAP Evaluator. Students can accompany SAP Evaluators in the field to assist in evaluations. SAP registration will allow the individuals to be deployed by Cal OES and fully participate in the evaluation process.
