Violet Bell and Homestead Collective
It will be an evening of duos as Violet Bell - the duo of Lizzy Ross and Omar Ruiz-Lopez returns to The Living Room. They'll be joined by Homestead Collective - the duo of Caitlyn Deviney and Ben Morris.
About Violet Bell: Violet Bell's original Americana is woven from threads of folk, soul, bluegrass, psychedelic, and classical music. Ross and Ruiz-Lopez share a mutual love of rock, hip-hop and R&B that finds its way into their traditionally-rooted music. The energy between Ross and Ruiz-Lopez is fiery, intimate and intuitive.
The Durham, NC-based duo was born in 2016, when singer-songwriter Ross recruited Ruiz-Lopez as a multi-instrumentalist for a live album recording show two weeks before the show. Ruiz-Lopez slayed the performance and brought out a new dimension of beauty in the music. Violet Bell released their debut EP "Dream the Wheel" in 2017 and have been playing ever since, resulting in a strong onstage chemistry that's evident in person and in videos of their live performances.
Violet Bell's momentum radiates from the experience of recording their debut full-length album, "Honey in My Heart," set for 2019 release. The album was produced by Violet Bell and Jason Richmond (Avett Brothers, Steep Canyon Rangers, Nnenna Freelon, Dom Flemons, Bombadil, Shana Tucker), and the songs were recorded live in single takes, without vocal tuning, isolation, or click tracks. Full of personality, "Honey in My Heart" feels consistent with the duo's true selves as opposed to hidden behind studio wizardry.

About Homestead Collective: Known for their memorable melodies and haunting, honest lyrics, Homestead Collective is Caitlyn Deviney and Ben Morris an indie-folk duo based just outside Philadelphia. Deviney and Morris, who met in high school, started collaborating musically through Sunday Muse, a project formed in 2015. Homestead Collective formed after Sunday Muse disbanded. Deviney and Morris have crafted a unique sound influenced by artists such as Nickel Creek, Josh Garrels, Drew Holcomb and Gregory Alan Isakov. They released a six-track, self-titled EP, and one single, titled "One Two Three." Their latest single releases, "San Francisco Skies," "Serenity," and "Scary Close" have been released exclusively on their Patreon platform as they build a community surrounding artist sustainability and an inside look behind their creative process.
